Helping Victorian children in out-of-home care access the support they deserve.

About Us

The Papillon Foundation is a registered Australian charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). Our purpose is to provide funding for children in out-of-home care to access the health, assessment, and therapeutic services they need to thrive.

We believe every child deserves a fair chance at a healthy, happy life regardless of their circumstances. Many children living in foster care, kinship care, or residential settings face significant barriers when it comes to accessing timely medical and therapeutic support.

That’s where we come in.

Our Mission

To eliminate barriers and create opportunities for healing and growth by funding access to critical healthcare services for children in out-of-home care.

What We Do

Through strategic funding and partnerships, the Papillon Foundation enables vulnerable children to receive:

  • Developmental and behavioural assessments

  • Paediatric medical care

  • Mental health and trauma-informed therapeutic support

  • Allied health services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, and psychology

We do this in close collaboration with Papillon Paediatrics, a specialised paediatric multi-disciplinary clinic. This partnership ensures that each child receives care that is trauma-informed, child-centred, and tailored to their individual needs.

Why It Matters

Children in out-of-home care often face complex challenges, including developmental delays, emotional trauma, and untreated health conditions. Early and consistent access to healthcare and therapeutic services can make a life-changing difference in their long-term wellbeing.  Support provided to carers also helps reduce the risk of placement breakdown.

By funding these services, the Papillon Foundation helps bridge the gap, giving these children the support they need today, to build brighter futures tomorrow.
